Turn off your DC Loads before draining the battery completely, and auto re-start after the battery has sufficiently recharged with precise voltage settings for autonomous DC equipment operation.
This small device solves the problem all off grid air conditioning users deal with - how do you delay the air conditioner from starting in the morning until after the battery has recharged a bit, and how do you turn off your AC before your battery has reached critically low levels, so you run your critical loads through the night without running out of juice.
By installing this device between a battery powered air conditioner and the battery, you can easily have your A/C turn off automatically once your battery gets low, but not low enough so you can keep running your critical loads until sunrise.
You can also use this device as a spark-free reliable relay. The included jumper pigtail can have a switch installed in it for a mechanical switch - or you can use the app.
We only carry the Smart version of the BatteryProtect because it allows any voltage to be set very precisely and is a lot easier to configure than the dumb version for a small price difference. If opsec is a concern, you can turn off bluetooth on the device with the app (need to manually trigger the device to re-enable bluetooth from inside).
Alternatively, one of nine predefined engage/disengage levels can be set with the programming pin (see manual). If required, Bluetooth can be disabled. The Smart BatteryProtect is a uni-directional device. It can only deal with current in one direction, so either current to a load, or current from a charger, but not both currents at the same time. In addition to this, current only can only flow from the IN terminal to the OUT terminal. In case of use with a load, the battery connects to the IN terminal, and in case of use with a charger, the charger connects to the IN terminal.
